Bad Girl RiRi has been heating up the charts for years. With her Barbados flare, and bad girl persona. Bad Girl Riri, is everyone's favorite. Rihanna has sold over 150 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Here is Rihanna full Bio and you don't want to miss her story.


Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados. Her mother, Monica Braithwaite, is a retired accountant, and her father, Ronald Fenty, is a warehouse supervisor.  Rihanna has two brothers,  and two half-sisters and a half-brother from her father's side. She grew up in a three-bedroom bungalow in Bridgetown and sold clothes with her father in a stall on the street. Rihanna's childhood was deeply affected by her father's addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol. Her parents divorced when she was 14. Rihanna grew up listening to reggae music and began singing at around the age of seven. Rihanna was an army cadet in a sub-military programme; the singer-songwriter Shontelle was her drill sergeant. Although she initially wanted to graduate from high school, she chose to pursue a musical career instead.


Her career began upon meeting record producer Evan Rogers in late 2003 with her girl group then she recorded demo tapes with his guidance. At the age of 16, Rihanna was signed to Syndicated Rhythm Productions, who assigned her a lawyer and manager, before the completed demo tape were distributed to various record labels around the world in late 2004.They sent the recordings to several record labels. Then she  signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, hip-hop producer and rapper Jay-Z who is also her mentor. "I signed her in one day," Jay-Z adds. "It took me two minutes to see she was a star."


Rihanna releases her first single, "Pon de Replay," kicking off her debut album, Music of the Sun, and it peaks at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100. She later toured with Gwen Stefani( No Doubt) to promote the album, which sold 2 million copies worldwide. Wow that's a lot. Music of the Sun, was released in August 2005. It debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200 and it went gold. Eight months after the release of her debut album, Rihanna releases her sophomore album, A Girl Like Me. Its lead single, "SOS", was an international success, charting in the top five in eleven countries, including Canada, Germany, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The song reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and in Australia, her first to reach this chart position. "Unfaithful", the album's second single, reached the top ten in eighteen countries, including number one in Canada and Switzerland. After her album was released, she went on her 1st headlining tour(Rihanna: Live in Concert Tour). She also earns her four Billboard Music Awards, including Female Artist of the Year for this album.


In 2007, she started working on her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad. This is when she started to have that edgier look, and got the nickname Bad girl Riri. It was released that May going straight to #2 in the US and Australia. The lead single "Umbrella" feat. Jay-Z topped the charts in several countries, and stayed #1 in UK for 10 weeks. It was Rihanna's first single to be named one of the best-selling singles worldwide, with sales of over 6.6 million copies. The songs "Shut Up and Drive", "Hate That I Love You" featuring Ne-Yo, and "Don't Stop The Music" were also released as singles. She also went on tour that September, with 80 shows around the world. She was also nominated for some Grammys and won though for  Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella" alongside Jay-Z.


After adamantly denying being involved with actor Josh Hartnett in early 2008, Rihanna is romantically linked to 18-year-old R&B star Chris Brown. Her third studio album's reissue, Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded, was released in June 2008 with three new songs: "Disturbia", "Take a Bow", and the Maroon 5 duet "If I Never See Your Face Again". This album was bigger than her first. This is when Rihanna was becoming a house hold name. This album sold over 2.8 million copies in the US, and went double platinum.




In 2009, she started working on her 4th album, Rated R. Rihanna and Chris were involved in a domestic violence drama, and Chris was charged with 2 felonies for allegedly beating up Rihanna. For that He was sentenced to 5 years of probation and 180 days of Community Labor. She received a lot of love and support for this incident, which brought a lot of attention to domestic violence issues in America. She released her  album later that year in August with a darker sound than normal, probably because of the whole Chris Brown thing. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. Its had first-week sales of 181,000 copies in the United States, giving Rihanna her highest first-week sales in the US at that time. Its lead single was, Russian Roulette. It placed in the top 10 in 16+ countries. She also released "Rude Boy", and "Hard", which both topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 6 weeks. To promote the album, Rihanna embarked on her second worldwide tour, the Last Girl on Earth Tour. At the 52nd Grammy Awards, "Run This Town" won Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. She also did a collaboration with Eminem on "Love the Way You Lie". It did so well, it reach #1 in 20+ countries, and sold over a million copies.  She also lent her voice for Kanye West on his song "All of the Lights". She later that same year changed management companies, and crossed over to her mentor's(Jay Z)  group, Roc Nation Management. After her traumatic relationship with Brown, Rihanna finds love again with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp.

She released her 5th studio album in November that year. The 1st single is the impious "Only Girl( In the World)" , which reached #1 in over 15 countries. The 2nd single was "What's My Name?" feat. Drake, which also went #1 in several countries including, UK, and US. She became the 1st woman solo artist to have 5 #1 singles in the UK in Consecutive Years. It was also the first time in history when the second song on the album reached higher in the charts than its lead single. The 3rd single was "S&M", which also reached #1 becoming her 10th  #1 single. Rihanna set a record as the solo artist with the fastest accumulation of ten chart toppers.

She won for Best Dance Recording in the 53rd Grammy Awards for "Only Girl(In the World)". She released 3 singles which are "Man Down", California King Bed", and "Cheers(Drink to that)".  She also went on her 3rd headlining tour, Loud Tour, in June 2011. Her our became the 7th highest grossing Tour worldwide in 2011. She also released her 2nd live video album titled, Loud Tour Live at the O2 in  December 2012.

Her 6th album, Talk That Talk, was released in November 2011, and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 selling over 198,00 copies. The lead single " We Found Love" topped the chart in over 20 countries, and broke many records worldwide. It was #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 non-consecutive weeks. It was also named the 24th biggest hit in Billboard 100 history. The second and third singles did not do as well as the first single. "Where Have You Been" was the fifth single, and also topped the Pop & EDM charts worldwide. The sixth released single was "Cockiness(Love It)", which also did not have the commercial success as the 1st and 5th single.

In early 2012, She collaborated with Coldplay on the song "Princess of China" and Drake's "Take Care". In February 2012, Rihanna won her third Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. March 2012 saw the simultaneous release of collaborations between Rihanna and Chris Brown: remixes of her song "Birthday Cake" and his "Turn Up the Music". The recordings received mainly negative responses due to the pair's history of domestic violence.

Starting her acting career, she debut as Petty Officer (GM2) Cora Raikes in her first theatrical feature film Battleship, which was released on May 18, 2012. She won a Teen Choice award even though she received a lot of bad reviews. She made a cameo on Katy Perry's Part of Me Documentary, and also featured in Oprah's Next Chapter.



She released her 7th studio album, Unapologetic, which was released in November 2012.  The album debuted at #1 in several countries including the US making it her first #1 alubm. It also sold 238,000 copies, and became her best-selling debut week of her career. The lead single is "Diamonds" made a big splash in ratings, and reached #1 in 20+ countries, and became her 12th #1. The second single was "Stay" feat. Mikky Ekko reaching the top five in 20+ countries.She embarked on her 777 Tour before the album released in seven shows in seven countries in seven days. Rihanna receives a congratulatory kiss from Brown on her way back to her seat at the MTV Video Music Awards. The pair's act of affection comes just weeks after the singer's emotional admission to Oprah, saying, "I truly love him." Following months of speculation, Rihanna confirms to Rolling Stone she and Brown have reconciled.

Rihanna won her 6th Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video for "We Found Love".  She also sold 3,868,00 records that year. She went on The Diamonds World Tour in March 2013, and in June appeared in the film This is the End. Rihanna was also featured in Eminem's song "The Monster" in October 2013, which also won a Grammy in 2015. The song also peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, which marked Rihanna's thirteenth chart topper, tying her with Michael Jackson for the third most number ones in the chart's 55-year history. Rihanna appeared on Shakira's single, "Can't Remember to Forget You", which was released as the first single from Shakira's album on January 13, 2014.

Rihanna began working on her 8th studio album in 2014.  In May that year, she signed over to Roc Nation who were already handling her management since October 2010.  On January 24, 2015, the first single from her upcoming eighth album was released, titled "FourFiveSeconds", and featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney. This song made a big splash in the pop charts, and different from her usual song released.  Rihanna recently lent her voice for the DreamWorks film "Home" with Jim Parsons, Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez.  On February 24, "Towards the Sun" was released as the first single from the Home soundtrack. On March 26, the following single to "FourFiveSeconds" was released, titled "Bitch Better Have My Money".

Rihanna has definitely has an amazing career, i mean her work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including eight Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 23 Billboard Music Awards, and two BRIT Awards. In 2012, Forbes ranked her the fourth most powerful celebrity of the year, with earnings of $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012. The same year, TIME named Rihanna one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. That is very impressive for such a talented lady. I have a feeling this is not the last of Rihanna, so expect to see more.
