TV Week: Eva Longoria #HHM

Her early acting career started by playing small roles in some television series, namely "The Bold and the Beautiful"; "General Hospital"; and "Beverly Hills 90210." Eva began to raise her profile after having roles as Isabella Braña on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless from 2001 to 2003. In 2004 she signed as Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series Desperate Housewives. She was even nominated for a Golden Globe.  Desperate Housewives receives 15 Emmy nominations in 2005 alone. I mean isn't that pretty impressive? L'Oréal Paris signs Longoria to an exclusive worldwide contract as a spokeswoman for the company and its brands in 2005. In 2006 Longoria founded Eva's Heroes, a charity which helps developmentally disabled children. She is the national spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cancer.  Longoria also supports the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, OmniPeace, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. SO she is an class act actress, educated, philanthropist, and she is gorgeous. What can this woman not do? +Eva Longoria

Celebrity Weekly: Pharell Williams

"The people have allowed me to - they've respected my choice of wanting to be like, a little, you know, a baby alchemist, and just trying to mix different cultures together and things that I think are interesting."

A Grammy-winning producer, songwriter, and artist behind a staggering quantity of R&B, rap, and pop hits, Pharrell Williams not only helped change the face of pop beginning in the late '90s. He also was one of the faces of pop music -- as a charismatic star who often stole the show when producing and/or guesting on other artists' hit singles. His presence was unfading, whether he was the one billed at the top or the one behind a beat.
To trace the beginning of his ascent, you have to go back to 1992, when Teddy Riley tapped him to write a verse for Wreckx-n-Effect's "Rump Shaker." Since the late '90s, Williams and longtime friend Chad Hugo -- known together as the Neptunes -- began scoring songwriting and production assignments that slowly but steadily infiltrated mainstream music, whether it was via dance-pop (Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U"), hardcore rap (Clipse's "Grindin'"), or contemporary R&B (Babyface's "There She Goes"). Williams and Hugo were relatively obscure during the mid-'90s, doing spare work for the likes of SWV, Total, and Mase, but they would eventually develop a style that would become as recognized and as mimicked as that of fellow Virginia Beach native Timbaland. (Prior to stardom, all three producers were in a band together called Surrounded by Idiots.)
As the duo took on more work, Williams' voice became increasingly familiar. He was now more likely to provide the chorus and the background vocals of the same song, in addition to appearing in the video. (Check out Jay-Z's "Excuse Me Miss" and Snoop Dogg's "Beautiful" for two examples.) It wasn't until the summer of 2003 that he truly stepped out on his own. He released his first solo single, "Frontin'." Produced with Hugo and featuring a guest verse from Jay-Z, the song built anticipation for The Neptunes Present... Clones, a compilation of all-new tracks from artists produced by the duo. "Frontin'" was a ubiquitous summer hit and kept Williams' momentum running up to the release of Hugo and Williams' second funk/rock-oriented N.E.R.D. album, released in March 2004. Williams' first solo album, In My Mind, survived a number of delays and was finally issued in July 2006. The set, produced by Williams alone, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart.
Although Williams didn't release another solo album for eight years, his name, as well as that of the Neptunes, continued to carry much weight. The remainder of the 2000s was filled with commercially successful collaborations with the likes of Clipse, Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Solange, and Madonna. There was a handful of Grammy nominations, as well as a surprising 2007 win for Ludacris' "Money Maker" in the Best Rap Song category. N.E.R.D., who released their third album, Seeing Sounds, in 2008, remained an an occasional diversion.
The following decade began with a steady stream of activity. Williams was responsible for much of the music for the animated comedy Despicable Me. Along with outside production and songwriting work, Williams and Hugo put together Nothing, the fourth N.E.R.D. album. During 2011 and 2012, Williams produced most of Gloria Estefan's Miss Little Havana, dozens of cuts for R&B, rap, and pop artists, and tracks for two of the most praised albums of the early 2010s: Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and Frank Ocean's Channel Orange. (Williams won a Grammy for his role in the latter.)
The roll continued through 2013. "Blurred Lines," a Hot 100 chart-topper from Robin Thicke, featured Williams as producer, co-songwriter, and featured artist. He co-wrote and fronted "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance," two songs from Daft Punk's number one Billboard 200 album Random Access Memories.

The soundtrack for Despicable Me 2 contained several Williams songs, led by the worldwide smash hit "Happy," for which he conceived a 24-hour music video. When the nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were announced, Williams' name appeared in seven categories. "Get Lucky" won Record of the Year, Random Access Memories won Album of the Year, and, most notably, Williams won the award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. Williams signed to Columbia, home of Daft Punk, and released his second album, G I R L, in March 2014. It reached number two on the pop charts, by which time "Happy" had achieved yet more success, becoming one of the top-selling digital singles of all time with sales of more than five million. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi

New Music: Sia "Alive"

Sia is back, and better than ever. Her new single "Alive" was released September 24th, 2015. I have to say she has outdone herself once again. The song is a mid-tempo power pop song. IT is so powerful. Once you hear her belt out those strong notes it is just electric.
"Alive", which was co-written with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. was intended for Adele's next album. "Alive" is the first single from her forthcoming album This Is Acting. I absolutely love this song. It is way more power than we have ever seen Sia do, and its just incredible. I give the song 5-stars, and I can not wait till the music video comes out.

Music Week: Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin was already a superstar entertainer in Latin and South American nations, beginning with his stint in the hugely popular group, Menudo. But his singing the soccer anthem at the 1998 World Cup, and a sensational performance at the 1999 Grammy Awards ceremony, propelled the singer/actor to international megastar status. A music idol since the age of 12, Martin grew to establish himself as one of the leading pop stars of the 1990s, and has been at the forefront of a new generation of popular Latin artists. In 2002, during his participation in the Principal for a Day program, a program supporting New York public schools. In addition to his charitable work, Ricky Martin has continued to explore his entertainment career. +Ricky Martin

How to Get Away with Murder Season 2 Episode 1 "It's Time to Move On"

Tonight’s HTGAWM season 2 premiere starts off with a look at how Rebecca was killed, Frank and Annalise talking about hiding the body. Wes shows up to Annalise’s class late and then passing on answering her questions during her lecture. He completely defies her in class and then when they get back to Annalise’s house, they are all fighting like cats and dogs.
Annalise is watching the news and got wind of a pair of adoptive siblings that are accused of killing their parents and she goes to pay them a visit to try and get their case. She leaves them her card and tells them to call her when their lawyer screws up.

When she gets back to her house, she tells them how they are going to get this case and win it and that’s when an unexpected visitor shows up in her living room. Eve Rothlow, a death row lawyer who Annalise told Nate to contact. Eve refuses to take Nate’s case, Annalise is begging her to take it and in the end, it sounds like she might take the case.

All of the students are scrambling to get as much information on the case of the siblings who killed their parents and Wes is also trying to see if he can find Jane Does that match Rebecca’s description. Later, Annalise pulls Wes aside and he apologizes for his outburst in her class. Annalise then feeds him a lie about Rebecca telling him that they found her at a motel in Philly.

Eve goes to meet with Nate and after their meeting Nate calls Annalise to tell her that Eve refuses to take his case. Annalise then goes to talk to Eve and she tells Annalise that she refuses to take the case because Annalise framed him and Annalise doesn’t deny it.

Earlier Wes left the house and Frank tails him, but Wes doesn’t go to the motel to find Rebecca like they expect him to. Later, Annalise has him over to talk to him and find out that he didn’t go look for her because she doesn’t want him to. Meanwhile Laurel shows up at Frank’s house and asks him if Rebecca is dead and after he tells her to stop overreacting and go home and act like a normal law student, he goes to see Annalise.

Frank tells Annalise what Laurel says and tells her that he thinks it was Laurel that killed Rebecca, Annalise tells him that it wasn’t her and that he has the wrong girl. The next thing we see is Annalise knocking on Bonnie’s door and Bonnie asking if everything is ok. Annalise tells her “no” and walks into her apartment.

We then get a look at Bonnie and Rebecca the day that Rebecca was killed and it starts off with Bonnie bringing her something to drink. She then sits down and talks to her and then she duct tapes her mouth shut and ties a bag around her head and kills her. After Annalise calls her a monster for what she did, she heads over to Eve’s to talk to her.

We then find out a little about their backstory, they seemed to have been in love in college and Annalise left her for Sam. Annalise admits to Eve that she framed Nate, but not because she killed Sam, but because she is protecting the person who did. Annalise and her talk a little longer about their past and then Eve invites her to stay in the guest room.
When Annalise and her start walking towards the guest room, Annalise kisses Eve and then promptly apologizes. Eve tells her not to apologize and told Annalise that she thinks about her everyday and then kisses her back. Well, this is an interesting plot twist! I will say that I’m surprised that we found out who killed Rebecca so soon though.

We end the episode of with Annalise talking to the siblings and they decide to hire Annalise and Eve decides to take Nate’s case. We then get a look at Annalise taking the students out for a night out to have fun and let loose a little bit. Meanwhile, Connor moved into Oliver’s apartment and then we see Bonnie at home watching the news. The star witness in the siblings trial, their aunt who claimed to see them leave the house right after the murder, was found dead in her car!

Then, we get a look at 2 months later and Annalise is shot and left for dead in the house of the siblings!? What is going on here!? Come back next week to find out!

Scandal Season 5 Premiere Recap "Heavy is the Head"

In a late summer interview, showrunner Shonda Rhimes revealed that Season 5 of Scandal would mark the return of The Gladiators doing what they do best. If tonight’s action-packed season premiere is any indication, we’re in for some heavy-duty — and most welcome — gladiating in the weeks to come. Hurray! Fingers crossed.

Of course, Shondaland is always teeming with seemingly limitless streams of crazy plot twists; we usually love them, mostly embrace them, and fully expect them. Done, done and done. And because Season 4’s closer left so many in a world of hurt — Mellie and Cyrus getting the White House heave-ho, Rowan finally behind bars (but for how long?), Quinn holding a gun to Huck’s head — it was especially intriguing to see if Thursday’s’s action-packed premiere lived up to Shonda’s pre-season promise.

The episode opens with a deliciously fire-breathing Sally Langston — filled with the righteous indignation of a ‘true American’ — updating us via “The Liberty Report.” Fitz is throwing a lavish state dinner in honor of the marriage of Prince Richard of Caledonia’s to princess Emily (a humble Iowa girl!) but Langston complains that it’s really just a ruse to butter up Queen Isabel in order to get a U.S. naval base built in Caledonia.

Cue sizzling hot scenes of Fitz and Olivia’s romance playing alongside the narrative — all soft porn lighting and pre-dinner hanky panky — as Langston warns viewers the President wants Americans “to skip with him down the road to Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Meanwhile, Mellie stews because she’s banned from the dinner (“I don’t have the flu!”) and Abby and Liv get caught gossiping about princess Emily, who catches them in the act, then recognizes Olivia and pours her heart out. “To them I’m not human, I’m just a spectacle … I don’t think they would say half the things they say if they knew there were hurting an actual person, do you?”
Then, the night’s first shock: Olivia’s called to the scene of a terrible car accident — shades of Princess Diana here — where Princess Emily lies dead, the paparazzi’s flashbulbs lighting up her bloodied corpse. A horrified Olivia covers the body with her coat. “Have some resect!” Game on, Gladiators!

Olivia meets with Queen Isobel and Prince Richard, who ask her to “represent their issues” and get the grisly photos returned. Enter Quinn (but what happened to Huck?), and the duo agrees it’s time to throw stacks of cash at the problem. That said, Prince Richard saves the day, by agreeing to pose for photos with Emily’s body in the morgue. Of course, one snafu remains: who’s the mysterious, helmeted faux photographer (actually a hacker assassin) who fled the scene?

Meanwhile, a bitterly betrayed Mellie tries to lay down the law with Elizabeth, resulting in a delicious catfight. Elizabeth not so subtly reminds the newly elected Senator of her newly isolated status, saying, “I was never loyal to you … You don’t matter to me, and now you also don’t matter to the most power man on the face of the earth. But guess who does? Me.” Snap, round one, Elizabeth!
While Abby tries to keep the ever-suspcious Sally Langston at bay, Olivia and Fitz debate his attending Mellie’s swearing in ceremony. Fitz shows (blindsiding Elizabeth in the process), but with an ulterior motive in mind: officially handing the newly-elected Senator divorce papers. But will Mellie sign?

David confirms Emily’s death was an assassination, and Quinn and Olivia suspect the Prince is behind it, which puts her at odds with Fitz, who wants his naval base, darn it! Doors slam, battle lines waged, there’s already trouble in paradise (are you surprised?)

Finally, we get a Huck moment! Olivia tracks him down in his darkened pad; he’s been waiting for her to “fix” him. Through tears, Olivia says, “You need a much better plan than me.”

Elizabeth and Abby mull over how to keep Fitz and Olivia’s romance a secret (good luck with that, ladies!), while Mellie enlists Cyrus to get back into the White House. “I’m not helping you anymore,” says a weary, scruffy-looking Cyrus, as Mellie resorts to a full-scale meltdown to win him over.
Then, the night’s next bombshell: The princess was pregnant at the time of the accident (from an affair with her bodyguard), and Olivia goes to the Queen with the news, but she’s hiding the next shocker: The Queen did it! “Not all fairytales have happy endings, my dear.”

But wait, some episodes of Scandal do! There’s Prince Richard, watching his wife’s casket being loaded into a plane, telling his mum the gig’s up, he knows everything (thanks to Olivia, of course). Then, the best line of the night: “The next time I see you … will be at your funeral.”
The episode ends with Huck showing up at — third shocker of the night! — Jake’s door, while Fitz and Olivia have it out on the Truman Balcony about going public with their romance. “They will destroy us, that’s reality, Fitz.”

But before the screen fades to black, Sally Langston drops the last bombshell when she breaks the Olivia and Fitz romance to the public: “These are not merely rumors,” she insists. “These are facts.”

Empire Season 2 Premiere Recap! "The Devils Are Here"

Empire is back, and better than ever. This hip-hop drama stunned everyone last season with whole lot of crazy, but it sophomore season is even crazier than ever, and I can not wait to keep you guys up with the 411 on all things Empire.
The wardrobe of Cookie Lyon, portrayed by Taraji P. Henson on “Empire,” is evolving from leopard and python prints to more upmarket, flamboyant looks.
The second season opens with the Lyon family(except Lucious who is in jail) staging a Free Lucious Concert. Cookie hams it up in a cage, wearing a gorilla suit, before delivering a passionate speech about Black Lives Matter. Cookie did not do it for Lucious actually, it was a way to impress investor Mimi Whiteman (Marisa Tomei), and then use her money to stage a hostile takeover. Cookie, Hakeem, Andre and Anika thought they’d managed to lock down a hostile takeover of Empire Entertainment using $250 million from Mimi. But despite an aggressive courtship that included Anika sleeping with Mimi, Mimi turned sides because she got a better deal from Lucious and Jamal. The best part? Lucious video-called into the meeting and mused, "Game over, bitches." You should have seen the look on Cookie's face.

We get a peak at Lucious in Jail, and he creates his own gang. Everything is all well until Frank Gathers( Chris Rock) shows up, the drug dealer Cookie snitched on, and it only took about five seconds before he convinced Cookie's cousin to sell her out.  Frank sends Cookie an actual head in the mail that might have been her cousin's. Cookie rallies the whole family up at Lucious's house. She visits Lucious in jail for protection, and besides their beef he comes through.  Gathers thought he had power in the prison, and was ready to  have his gang kill Lucious they all turned on Gathers and killed him.

The episode ends with Jamal  kicking everyone out of Lucious's house, shelving Hakeem’s record, and frozing out his beloved mother — leading her to slap his face not once, but twice, and express her deepest fear of him turning into his father.
Empire is getting good, and I can not wait till next week. So make sure you come back here for more Empire news.

New Music: Ellie Goulding "On My Mind" (music video)

Ellie Goulding, On My Way, Music Video
Ellie Goulding has been heating up the charts with her new song "On My Mind." Everyone is talking about the song thinking its about Ed Sheeran, but it is not. The song is amazing. I cannot get the chorus out of my head. Looks like another hit in her hands. "On My Mind" is the first single from Goulding's upcoming third album, Delirium, out Nov. 6.

In the video set in Las Vegas, Goulding  finds herself stuck in a love affair with a casino owner who becomes a bit too controlling for her liking. She teams up with one of her badass gal-pals to get revenge on her man. She and her pal hops on her horse and  taking care of business by tying him up and taking all his money. It definitely gives you Rihanna's "BBHMM" video appeal, but a little less bloody. Ellie shows some major skin in the video, and is not afraid about it. Overall I like the video, but not love. Sorry, but it was just not my cup of tea. I rate this video 2.5-stars, and the song 4-stars.

"Success is nothing if you don't have the right people to share it with; you're just gonna end up lonely."

Selena Gomez has become one of the biggest stars of her generation. She is absolutely amazing so sit back, and read about this lady.

Selena Marie Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on July 22, 1992. Her mother had her when she was 16. Her Grandparents took care of her as a child while her parents went to school. Her Parents, Ricardo Joel Gomez and Amanda Dawn Cornett, divorced when she was only five. She has two half-sisters from her mother and her second husband, and her father with his second wife. Her and Her mother struggled when she was a kid. She earned a high school diploma through homeschooling in May 2010.

Selena began liking acting watching her mother in theater. She booked her first role on Barney and Friends in 2002 with Demi Lovato. Gomez appeared in fourteen episodes of the show throughout 2002 to 2004, though was let go by the show's producers as she was getting "too old" for the series. She got a couple of role while working on Barney like Spy Kids 3-D:Game Over in 2003, and Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire in 2005.

After Her time on Barney, Gomez and Lovato began auditioning for Disney Channel. Gomez made a guest appearance in a episode of the Disney series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody in 2006. She booked a recurring role on Hannah Montana. She later auditioned for a role in the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place, ultimately landing the lead role of Alex Russo. She and her mother moved to Hollywood for the role while it became such a hit. After Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus gain some fame from Disney, the three became known as the “Disney Girls”. Their careers were constantly compared to one another. She began secretly dating Nick Jonas around 2007-2008.  There were constant rumors of beef going on between Gomez and Cyrus since Cyrus previously dated Nick. Forbes magazine later listed Gomez as one of the "Eight Hot Kid Stars to Watch" in 2008.

As Wizards of Waverly Place builds its fame, Gomez began doing some stuff on her own. She appeared on Several Disney Shows including, Sunny with A Chance with Lovato, Studio DC: Almost Live alongside various other Disney stars, and many more. She even contributed to several soundtracks like Tinker Bell. She got the lead role in Another Cinderella Story alongside Drew Seeley.  The film was released to generally positive reviews, and won the 2010 Writers Guild of America Award for Children's script-long form or special. She also recorded 3 songs for the soundtrack, and “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” was a commercial success.  She was signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records, who had already signed both Cyrus and Lovato.
She launched her own production company, July Moon Production, partnered with XYZ Films. She was suppose to release 2 films from the Company even going as far as announcing it, but it never happened. Gomez, along with Lovato, starred in the Disney Channel film Princess Protection Program, which aired in June 2009. It did really well, and had 8.5 million viewers during its premiere.

For the film, Gomez and Lovato recorded the song "One and the Same", which was later released as a promotional single. In August 2009, She starred in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, and it aired to an audience of 11.4 million viewers making it the #1 scripted telecast in 2009. It also became Disney Channel's second most-viewed film premiere after High School Musical 2. It even won its second Emmy for "Outstanding Children's Program".

Selena began to cross over into music so she formed the band, Selena Gomez and the Scene. The group released their debut studio album in August 2009, and it became Gold Certified. She gained some success with the song “Naturally”. During this time She and Nick Jonas ended their relationship. She was linked to Taylor Lautner for several months until reports of a break up. She got back together with Jonas until they broke up a couple of months after. She became the spokesperson for several companies including State Farms, and Sears’ back-to-school campaign. In 2010, she starred in the book-based movie “Ramona and Beezus”. Gomez's band released their second studio album that same year, achieving further success and becoming their second album to be certified. A Year Without Rain debuted in the United States at number four, selling 66,000 copies in its first week. The album has so far spawned two top forty singles in the United States, lead single, "Round & Round", and the title track "A Year Without Rain".

She launched her first fashion line "Dream out Loud by Selena Gomez" in 2010. After going to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with Justin Bieber in 2011, they confirmed their relationship. They became a huge power couple even labeled "Jelena". She starred in the movie Monte Carlo that same year. Selena Gomez & the Scene released their third and final studio album that same year, with the album's second single receiving a 4x Platinum certification.

In 2012 she announced that she is taking a hiatus from music to focus more on acting. That same year Wizard of Waverly Place ended after 4 years. She later starred in Spring Breakers, which was her most controversial role for her, and Vanessa Hudgens who was also apart of the Disney Franchise. n early November 2012, it was widely reported that Gomez and Bieber had ended their relationship after approximately two years together then they got back together a month after.

Even though she announced her hiatus from music, she was working on her debut album "Stars Dance".  The lead single, "Come & Get It" was her biggest hit song. It became her first top ten hit in the United States, and her most successful song on pop radio. Her debut album, Stars Dance, was released on July 23, 2013. It became her first album to top the Billboard 200, and gave Gomez the highest first week sales of her career. She went on the Stars Dance tour that year, and it was a success.  She also starred in the Disney channel special The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex that year. Gomez spent two weeks at Dawn at The Meadows, a treatment center in Wickenburg, Arizona that specializes in treating addiction and trauma in young people. A lot of people believed she was there for Depression after her break-up with Selena Gomez.

It was confirmed in September that Gomez had signed a new contract with Interscope and had begun working on her second studio album. Gomez released a compilation album, For You, to finalize her deal with Hollywood Records. It was all of her greatest hits, and included the song "Heart Wants What it Wants". She wrote the song about Justin Bieber, and it did really well. She is currently working with Zedd, Dreamlab and the LA-based producer Ruffian on her second studio album.
