Today we have lost a girl with a magical voice. Today we have lost Christina Grimmie. This tragedy occurred last night during a meet and greet after her Orlando show.
The singer was shot by 27 year-old Kevin James Loibl. Grimmie's brother immediately tackled the gunman, who then shot and killed himself during the struggle, police said.
"It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord," her publicist states in a statement.
"She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn't survive the gunshot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning.
