Trendsetter of the Week Yara Shahidi You know her as Zoey Johnson from the critically acclaimed show Blackish. She began her career when she was 6 years old, appearing in television and print advertisements for companies. She continued her work and landed her most notable role on Black-ish. She has been nominated for several awards and received numerous accolades in her work industry, and has even won a NAACP award for her role as Zoey. There are few African-American teens in the industry who have such an audience as Shahidi does, and she uses her platform for good. Now 16, Shadidi is inspiring young people to explore their passion, be who they are, and not let anyone change who you are. That is what makes her a trendsetter and it also doesn't hurt that she always looks fly. With her volunteering efforts, activism, and amazing spirit, Shahidi is an inspiration to all, and we are ecstatic to call her our Trendsetter of the Week.
